CREATIVITY INNOVATION PLAY IDEAS
Creative work rarely gets stuck because of a lack of ideas. More often, we're navigating uncertainty, too many possibilities, self-doubt, or simply the challenge of seeing our work clearly. I offer one-to-one and group creative consulting for artists and creative practitioners - such as visual artists, designers, filmmakers, photographers, writers, digital artists, and creative entrepreneurs.
Whether you're developing a new project, feeling creatively stuck, navigating a career transition, or looking for an experienced creative to think alongside you, our sessions are designed to help you gain clarity, strengthen your creative process, and move your work forward with confidence.
My Approach
Every creative process is different, which is why every session begins with listening. Rather than offering ready-made answers, I create a space where you can think aloud, explore ideas, and uncover what feels most essential to your work. Through thoughtful dialogue and critical reflection, we'll identify patterns, clarify your direction, and discover practical ways to move forward. I believe that meaningful progress often comes not from doing more, but from letting go of what no longer serves the work. When appropriate, I also introduce creative exercises, reflective tools, and practical strategies tailored to your needs. My role is not to tell you what to create, but to help you see your work and your creative practice, with greater clarity and confidence.
Who This Is For
This service is for artists and creative practitioners who are looking for thoughtful support at any stage of their creative journey. You might be: Starting a new project. Feeling creatively stuck or overwhelmed. Returning to your practice after time away. Preparing for an exhibition, residency, publication, or funding application. Looking for honest, constructive feedback on your work. Navigating a creative or professional transition. Seeking accountability and momentum. Looking for space to reflect on your creative practice with someone who understands it. Whether you're an emerging creative or have years of experience, our conversations are shaped around your individual needs.
We Might Work On
- Clarifying Ideas & Creative Direction: When you have many ideas, or none that seem quite right, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Together, we'll untangle your thoughts, identify what matters most, and develop a clear direction that feels aligned with your intentions. -Developing Creative Projects: Whether you're at the beginning of a project or somewhere in the middle, our sessions provide space to explore ideas, challenge assumptions, make decisions, and move your work forward with greater confidence. -Moving Through Creative Blocks: Creative blocks are often invitations to look more closely rather than push harder. Together, we'll explore what's keeping you stuck, recognize recurring patterns, and discover ways of reconnecting with your creative process. -Creative Thinking & Brainstorming: Creative work doesn't have to happen in isolation. Sometimes the most valuable step is having another thoughtful mind to think alongside yours. We can brainstorm ideas, explore possibilities, test concepts, and generate new perspectives together. -Building a Sustainable Creative Practice: Creative work exists alongside everyday life. We'll explore ways to develop habits, structures, and working methods that support your creativity while respecting your individual rhythm and circumstances. -Creative Confidence: Self-doubt, perfectionism, comparison, and the inner critic are familiar companions for many creatives. Rather than trying to silence them completely, we'll work towards understanding them so they no longer dictate your creative decisions. -Professional Practice: Beyond making the work itself, we'll explore how you present it to the world. This might include developing your portfolio, communicating your ideas, preparing for exhibitions, applications or residencies, or building a professional presence that feels genuine and sustainable.
What You Can Expect
Each session is a focused conversation tailored to where you are and what you need. You may leave with greater clarity, practical next steps, new questions to explore, or simply a renewed sense of connection with your work. Sometimes progress means making a decision. Sometimes it means changing perspective. Sometimes it means discovering that you already knew the answer.
About Me
As a practicing artist, educator, and researcher, I've spent more than a decade exploring creativity from multiple perspectives: through my own artistic practice, higher education, teaching, research, and by working alongside artists and creative practitioners at different stages of their careers. Throughout my own journey, I've been fortunate to learn from generous mentors who challenged my thinking, encouraged deeper reflection, and helped me recognize what was truly essential in my work. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work with others today. I understand that every creative process is unique. Rather than offering fixed solutions, I bring careful listening, thoughtful questions, and an outside perspective that can help you see your work with greater clarity. Whether we're discussing an emerging idea, navigating a creative block, or developing a long-term artistic practice, my aim is to create a space where you feel supported, challenged, and inspired to move your work forward.
